Dogs Can Detect <br />Lung Cancer With <br />97% Accuracy In a new study, researchers used three beagles to sniff out <br />different blood samples. The report can be found in <br />'The Journal of the American <br />Osteopathic Association.' The dogs were first trained for two months <br />to give signs if they detected cancer from sniffing blood serum samples. The samples originally came from <br />people with lung cancer and healthy subjects. After training, tests were <br />held at Lake Erie College <br />of Osteopathic Medicine. During the process, beagles walked away if they didn't detect cancer or sat if they did in the patients. Following the study's end, researchers say <br />the dogs guessed correctly 97% of the time.
